busy busy busy

Wow! It's been a busy month and a half! I have really been slacking on this whole blog thing...and I was doing so well!

Anyway, things have finally settled down after the holidays, and our wedding to-do list is expanding rapidly! We finally got both of our venues booked, so that's a step in the right direction. Now we really have to start working on finding a caterer and a photographer.

On a completely different note, we had some serious ring drama go down. Back in April of last year, one of the diamonds on my engagement ring fell out. Luckily, we have really good insurance on the ring, so it was replaced for free. Then, just after New Year's, it happened AGAIN! So I took it in and had it sent off to get the stone replaced. 4 weeks later, I went and picked it up. I was so excited to have it back that I didn't really think about inspecting it. When Chris looked at it closely, he noticed something was amiss. The diamond that they had replaced it with was WAY smaller than the original, and it was crooked in the setting! We were not pleased, to say the least. So we took it back to Gordon's. They basically told us that we had two choices: send the ring off again, wait, and chance it happening again because the setting is so unsecure. Or, we could pick out a different ring.

At first, I was not a fan of picking out a different ring. It made me sad to think that the ring Chris proposed with would be gone. But once I thought about it for awhile, I decided that it wasn't worth having to worry about the stones falling out all the time. So we looked around at the rings they had, and I finally found the one! It's actually exactly the kind I was originally looking for...very vintage-y and unique. I loved the ring I had, but it just wasn't worth the headache. I felt really bad because Chris is having to pay quite a bit of money to make up the difference (since we got the first ring on sale), but it's for forever!

Chris even got down on one knee when we got home to re-propose! It was really really cute!
